Day 16

Something you're proud of in the past few days
I've been really brave. I've done a lot of really hard things.

Example #1:
This is my 6th semester at BYU...and my 5th apartment.
Yeah. I'm sick of moving and starting over. But the good news is, I think this is going to be one of my favorite semesters. My roomies are wonderful, the ward is great, and I'm lovin' my classes.

Example #2:
As Jason Derulo says: "I'm solo, I'm ridin solo..."
It's been a year since I've been single and at times I feel like I don't know how. It feels totally foreign, yet I feel like I'm transitioning quite well. I forgot how nice it is to still get free meals and entertainment on the weekends without having a boyfriend. ;)

Example #3:
I'm taking NDFS 250.
That is a Food Science class people. Science? Did I really just say that word?! Yes, unfortunately I did. No need to freak out. I already did that for you. Not gonna lie, I'm a little worried about it since science isn't really my thing. Even reading the textbook is hard. Seriously, scientists don't write well. No offense but they don't speak proper English. They speak in definitions that rarely flow with the previous one. Lovely.
So let me put this into perspective for you. NDFS 250 has a pre-req:
Organic Chemistry
(referred to as one of the toughest classes at BYU)
Then! It doesn't end there. Organic Chemistry also has a pre-req:
Chemistry 105 & Chemistry 111
The worst part is that I have never taken a chemistry class in my life. Back in high school I had heard that it was hard so I took Physics instead. (Still don't regret that.) The good news is that since my major isn't focused on science we are excused from the pre-reqs and they have organized a section just for FACS-Ed majors. Nice huh! Kinda. Except for the fact that they are expecting us to perform at the same level as a student with 2-3 extra semesters of chemistry experience. Let's hope they "dumb it" down quite a bit.
Colloidal dispersions?
Don't worry, I'm going to understand all of that eventually...even if I have to plan on spending many hours in the library and with the TA. And I guess a couple prayers wouldn't hurt ;)

Sorry I disappeared from my blog for awhile! With food science consuming my life I can't guarantee I'll be on here that often, but if you haven't done something lately to make yourself proud then come up with something!
Here's an idea: tutor me! ha

Day 15

A YouTube video
Man, there are so many good ones!!
I came across this little gem again the other day and I forgot how funny it is.

Enjoy! :)

Day 14

A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.
Well considering that I was supposed to post this yesterday...ha
I'll describe yesterday:
My roommate's sister was able to get a hold of some free tickets to the BYU vs. UTAH basketball game. Ya, why would you pass on that? The only catch was that the tickets were in the Utah student section. It was a little intimidating not gonna lie. But I wore my blue-green flower in my hair with pride, since that was the only blue I was brave enough to wear. :) As I'm sure you all know...Jimmer was unreal. After he made that half court buzzer shot I stood there in unbelief for a good five minutes. I'm glad he's on my team!

What a good game.
Missing class was totally worth it!

Day 13

A picture of something you want to do before you die:
Maybe I'm crazy, but I wanna go so bad! I love that feeling when you get a tickle in your stomach. And it would be so cool to just free fall and see everything from up above :)

Day 11

A picture of something that makes you very happy:
Call me crazy if you want to, but I am a truck lover.
Old Chevy trucks and GMC Sierras are my favorites for sure,
but hey...a truck is a truck!

I'm definitely not a materialistic person, but one day I will have a truck.
Just because.
It's the one thing that will always be on my wish list.

Hello, beautiful

Does anyone with a truck wanna take me on a road trip??

Day 10

A picture that makes you laugh

 Please visit this website :)
I promise you'll have a good laugh!

Day 9

A website.
Check it out!

Day 8

Favorite book: The Cedar Post
This book is truly inspiring. One of my good friends challenged me to read it awhile ago and I really enjoyed it. It's about the lessons a teenage boy learns from a man named Ur, who is both deaf and blind. He teaches the importance of hard work, determination, and diligence, and how when we have the right attitude we can achieve any goal. It's definitely a must read!

Day 7

A picture of someone that has the biggest impact on you:
Jesus Christ
Photo via
"He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son."

Day 6

Whatever tickles your fancy.
Well...on that note, it's a New Year and I have a video clip I want to share!

I don't know about you guys, but 2010 has been great. I definitely had my highs and my lows, my achievements and my shortcomings, but I feel like I've grown as a person more this year than I ever have. Like the thoughts in that video clip, I challenge you to not be pulled down by the trials and the hardships that you dealt with during the past year. We all have them but we are all capable of being strong enough to not look back, and keep going into the future in the best way we can.
Forgive and forget.
 Laugh often.
Turn to the Savior.
Live for the future.

And remember:
"The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time."
-Abraham Lincoln

Day 5

A picture of somewhere you've been to: NAUVOO!
My family and I went to visit my Grandma in Nauvoo last summer while she was there serving her mission. That is such a neat place. I think it was my fifth time going, and it never gets old. It seems like there is always more to see.
You can probably tell that I am a sucker for sunsets. The first is of my little brother's version of skipping rocks. ;) The second is me pretending that I'm a really great photographer. One day I hope to be!
Sorry the quality isn't incredible...
